Annual Reports

Each year the Council produces an annual report to review its performance and achievements for the past financial year. The document is designed to provide an insight into the Council’s operations and financial position, and indicate how the Council has performed in achieving the activities it set itself during the year.

Broadly the Annual Report includes information on:

• The achievements and challenges faced by the Council during the financial year;
• Information about council operations;
• An outline of council services;
• Performance against the objectives set out in the Council’s corporate plan;
• The financial statements for the financial year;
• A report as to the state of the environment for the area; and
• Other information required by the Local Government Act 1993.

For ease of use the annual report has been divided into a number of sections. These include:

• Community Reports, which are designed to provide a snapshot of the Council’s operations and performance in an easy to understand format;
• The full 2008/09 Annual Report which meets statutory reporting requirements;
• The Council’s audited financial statements; and
• A comprehensive report into the State of the Environment.
