Mechanic Foreman

Council is seeking applications for the position of Mechanic Foreman.

This hands-on position for a fully qualified deisel mechanic and  involves the following key activities:

  • To maintain, service and repair plant and equipment at our workshop and field servicing/breakdowns as required.
  • Carry out tasks at the highest standard possible while meeting requirement deadlines.
  • Carry out inspections and assessment on vehicles as required and complete relevant documentation.
  • Conduct all activities in a manner to ensure personal safety, safey of others and environmental protection.
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment whilst maintaining a high workmanship stantard.

The position is classified as Band 10 within the Council’s salary structure with a salary range from $56,777.99 to $61,886.94 per annum plus statutory superannuation, with actual salary to be based on qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2017.

Position Description - Mechanic Foreman

Water and Sewer Operator

The Council is seeking applications for a qualified Water and Sewerage Operator.

The job will require the applicant to:

  • Operate and maintain water and sewerage systems
  • Clean and maintain plant and equipment
  • Record and maintain water and sewerage records
  • Provide timely attendance to customer requests
  • Have a good understanding of WHS regulations, policies and procedures
  • Follow and practice safe working methods
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Have the ability to work in a team

Applicants should hold a current Class C drivers licence and will be required to be on call alternate weeks

The position is classified as Band 7 within the Council’s salary structure, with a salary range from $50,172.02 to $54,574.95 per annum ($1,929.69 to $2,099.03 per fortnight) plus 9.5% statutory superannuation, with actual salary to be based on qualifications and experience.  Conditions are in accordance with the Local Government (Sate) Award 2017.

Position Description - Water and Sewer Operator

Labourer Grade 2 - 2 year fixed term

Council is seeking applications for the positions of Labourer Grade 2 two year fixed term within the operations sections of Council’s Technical Services Department.

The main purpose of this position is to assist in the construction and maintenance of Council’s infrastructure, rural roads and footpaths, concreting of kerbs, parks and gardens.  Ability to perform manual tasks and work in a team environment is essential.

Applicants should hold a current Class C drivers licence and must possess basic literacy and numeracy skills.

The position is classified as Band 2 within the Council’s salary structure with a salary range from $44,246.99 to $47,871.96 per annum plus statutory superannuation, with actual salary to be based on qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2017.

Casual Pool Lifeguards

Council is seeking applications for the position of Casual Pool Lifeguards for the 2017/2018 season, which starts November 2017. You will be responsible for a wide range of duties including:

  •        Supervision of the public and ensuring a safe and friendly pool environment
  •        Carrying out cleaning and maintenance


ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  •         RLSSA Pool Lifeguard Licence
  •         Current Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Certificate, including oxygen use
  •         Current WorkCover approved Senior First Aid Certificate
  •         Ability to satisfactorily complete Lifeguard Competency Assessment
  •         Ability to communicate effectively with the public and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  •         Ability to supervise pool patrons
  •         Possess a “Working with Children Check” Clearance in accordance with the ‘Child Protection (WWC) Act 2012’


The position is classified as Band 1 within Council’s salary structure with a salary of $26.3305 per hour (which includes a casual loading) plus penalty rates for Saturday and Sunday work in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2017.
