Aviation Training Camps


Two Aviation training camps are coming up:

  • Woodleigh School will be visiting from 14 August to 18 August; and 
  • Peninsula Aero Club will be in attendance from 21 September to 25 September 2017

Tocumwal Aerodrome played a very important part as a US base during WW2, when it was known as McIntyre Field. Whilst much of the WW2 infrastructure has disappeared a lot of the history has been collected and the museum is currently housed at the Tocumwal Bowls Club. Contact the bowls club for opening times. The museum also has a very comprehensive website

Latitude            -35.68371             (35o 41’01’’S)

Longitude         145.81425            (145o 48’51’’E)

Hazards    Trees and power lines on the north-west approach.  No lighting on airstrip.  Not suitable in
                          wet weather.

                           It is outside the technical expertise of the Council to advise pilots as to whether
                          they should or should not use the strip.
