The New Residents Kit is full of helpful information for new and existing residents.
Below is some information about services available to residents of the Berrigan Shire. More information, or a complete New Resident Kit is available from the Council office.
Garbage Collection
Garbage is collected each TUESDAY by Kendall Foott Waste. Please place your bin out the night before collection
Recycling Collection
Berrigan Shire Council provides a recycling collection service also opperated by Kendall Foott Waste. Recycling is collected FORTNIGHTLY on TUESDAY, please place your bin out the night before collection.
Waste Disposal
Berrigan Shire Council operates Waste Disposal Centres for Shire residents at Berrigan, Tocumwal and a recycle centre at Finley. Centres are staffed and waste is accepted or declined at the Tip Masters discretion.

Rates
Council rates can be paid in full or by quarterly instalments. There are various payment methods provided by the Council click here for more details.
Library Services
Berrigan Shire Council has recently completed building a new Library in Berrigan and the service has branches in all four towns. Finley and Tocumwal also provide a Council Service Centre located at the library branch. For more information, please click here.
Community Health Services
Greater Southern Area Health Service (GSAHS) provides medical care throughout the Berrigan Shire. GSAHS provides a wide range of health services and visiting professionals to assist with health care needs.
Visiting services include - Speech Pathologist, Dentist, Sexual Assault Worker and Palliative Care Nurse.
Children's Services 0-5 Years
The Berrigan Shire provides a range of children's services for children 0-5 years of age including childcare and music classes to speech therapy and respite care.
Companion Animal Registration
The NSW Companion Animals Act of 1999 requires all dogs and cats to be microchipped and financially registered with Council. Discounts are available for animals that are desexed, or owned by a *pensioner.

Moving to Berrigan Shire
The Berrigan Shire Prospective New Residents Kit is aimed at people who are considering moving to Berrigan Shire.
