Fit for the future

The Fit For the Future Program is a New South Wales local government reform package designed to build, in New South Wales, a stronger system of local government and stronger local communities.

The package is informed by the recommendations of the Independent Local Government Review Panel and the Local Government Acts Taskforce which recommended that the Berrigan Shire Council merge with the Jerilderie Shire Council.

After extensive consultation and research the Council, at an Extraordinary Meeting held 24 June 2015, adopted its submission to the NSW Independent  Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal a Council, namely a Fit for the Future Improvement Proposal (Existing Structure).
