Payment of expenses and the provision of facilities for Mayors and Councillors

In accordance with section 252 of the Local Government Act 1993, the Council must adopt a policy within the first twelve months of its term, concerning the payment of expenses incurred or to be incurred by, and the provision of services to, the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and other Councillors in relation to discharging the functions of civic office.

The council has now adopted a draft policy for the Payment of Expenses and the Provision of Facilities for the Mayor and Councillors which is available below, in branch libraries and the shire office for inspection.

Public submissions in relation to the Policy will be accepted until the close of business on Wednesday 21st December 2016; any submissions received will be considered by the Council at its meeting to be held 18th January 2017 before consideration of adoption of the Policy.

Submissions may be faxed, emailed or posted to the Council.
