Paying your Rates/Water

All rates are levied in July for the upcoming financial year. You may opt to pay your rates in full by 31 August this year, or in four equal installments due:

  • 31 August
  • 30 November
  • 28 February
  • 31 May

You will need your rates assessment number (found on your rates notice) to pay your rates.

Online

Using our flexible payment partner, Payble, you can set up a payment schedule that works for you.
Payments can be spread across the rating period, and can be debited weekly, fortnightly, or monthly from your debit or credit card.
Using Payble, you can update and change your payment details anytime and set SMS reminders to stay on track with payments.

Step 1.Choose your payment option

  • Lump sum
    If you pay your rates or water notices as a lump sum payment, payment is due by 31 August 2023.
  • Instalments
    Payments must be received in four instalments by the above dates.  
  • Flexible amounts
    Set up weekly, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly payments using Payble.

Step 2.Prepare your information

You will need to following when you pay:

  • your assessment number
  • a valid credit card

Step 3.Pay online

Get started by scanning the Payble QR code on your rates notice or by visiting Berrigan Shire Council Payble.
Follow the prompts to set up a flexible direct debit schedule with payments that suit your needs. 

You can sign up at any time after your rates have been issued.

Make sure you wait for a receipt before you close the payment screen.

    You will need your biller code and reference number for this method.

Call Australia Post on 13 18 16 and quote BillPay Code 2595

Credit cards accepted: VISA, Mastercard.
Please note: Amex is not accepted.

You will also need your reference number located on your notice.

In Person

Step 1.Australia Post

You can pay in person at any Australia Post office using your Post Billpay reference number and quote BillPay Code 2595

Step 2.Council's Office

You can pay at Council's office, 56 Chanter Street, Berrigan (Monday to Friday 9am - 4:30pm, excluding public holidays).

Payments can be made by credit or debit card, cash or cheque.
