Planning Advice / Meeting

Before spending money, we encourage you to consult with Council’s Planning & Development team, for unbiased, professional advice on what you would like to do at your property.

Council’s Planning & Development team provide a complementary Pre-Application advice service, aimed to help customers with a planning query. Council staff help customers identify what planning legislation applies; which planning controls need to be considered; the likelihood of policy support for what they want to do; and what documents are needed to lodge with a Development Application.

Completing the online form below is our preferred method of contact and it:

  • means that advice is transparent and accountable, and both the customer and Council’s Planning & Development team have a written record to which they can refer back to, rather than trying to remember a conversation;
  • assists the customer, as they can complete it and provide the relevant information in their own time (instead of ringing inside business hours and providing information to staff over the phone); and
  • assists Council’s Planning & Development team as they receive the enquiry directly; and they can investigate the enquiry before contacting the customer.
  • allows the request to be assigned to the right person within the Planning & Development team.
