Councillors Questions S3.32 Register

3.32      Nothing in clause 3.31 prevents a councillor from requesting information from the Chief Executive Officer about a matter to be considered at a meeting, provided the information is also available to the public. Information requested under this clause must be provided in a way that does not involve any discussion of the information.

(a) If a councillor has made a request for information, the request and the response will be included on a register which will be made public. Questions received up until close of business the day before the meeting will be included on the public register. Questions received on the day of the meeting will be provided to the public at the earliest opportunity or read out at the meeting by the Chief Executive Officer for recording in the minutes and prior to the item being debated. There will be no provision for follow up questions.
