COUNCIL TO UTILISE ONEROAD FOR LIVE TRAFFIC UPDATES

Berrigan Shire Council is now using the OneRoad platform to update NSW road users of any changed traffic conditions across the Shire.

One Road is a cloud-based system that collects, collates, and shares traffic information for all NSW roads. It has been designed to make it easier for NSW road users to access the most up-to-date information, making it easier and safer to travel on NSW Roads.

“Council will feed real-time information about traffic conditions, incidents, planned and unplanned roadworks, hazards and major events on all roads across NSW into OneRoad, which in turn feeds that information into Live Traffic NSW,” said Chief Executive Officer, Karina Ewer.

The complete NSW Road Network spans a length of almost 185,000 kilometres but until recently, Live Traffic has only covered State roads, or about 10% of that network. OneRoad will give road users a much more detailed and accurate overview of the bigger picture.

This information is fed on to the Live Traffic NSW app and website, and on navigation systems like Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze and TomTom.

OneRoad and the Live Traffic NSW websites and apps are funded and maintained by Transport for NSW.
