Tourism at the Heart of Regional Growth: Network Forum Announced
Tourism is one of the strongest drivers of growth and opportunity across the Murray region, and Berrigan Shire Council together with Moira Shire Council are again joining forces to host a Tourism Network Forum this November in Tocumwal.
The forum, scheduled for Thursday 13 November 2025 at Tocumwal Brewery (4.00pm–6.00pm), will provide an opportunity for tourism operators, businesses, and community representatives to come together, connect, and share their experiences.
Designed as a relaxed networking evening, the event will highlight the vital role tourism plays in strengthening local economies while offering a platform for collaboration, new ideas, and mutual support across the two shires. Attendees will be able to hear from guest speakers, exchange stories, and gain valuable insights into the region’s growing visitor economy.
Berrigan Shire Mayor, Cr Julia Cornwell McKean, said the forum reflects the passion and commitment of the community towards showcasing what makes the region special.
“Tourism really is part of who we are. We’ve got stunning landscapes, unique experiences, and local businesses that make our towns so special. This forum is all about bringing people together—sharing ideas, swapping stories, and finding ways we can work together to keep our region thriving,” Mayor Cornwell McKean said.
Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator, Dr Graeme Emonson PSM, said “Tourism is a key driver of our region’s local economy – generating hundreds of jobs, supporting local businesses, and encouraging investment. We’re fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the world, and our natural scenery, outdoor activities, and vibrant events continue to attract visitors.”
“Our region’s wide range of tourism experiences are essential for sustaining both the economic strength and liveability across our shires. We look forward to welcoming our local tourism network to this event” Chair Administrator, Dr Graeme Emonson PSM said.
Attendance at the forum is free, with RSVPs encouraged.
