Town Beach will be closed for the installation of greywater services from 1st May 2024 for approximately 3 weeks depending on works.

Berrigan Shire has been working with NSW Health and the Murrumbidgee Local Health District to deliver a combined response to the Japanese Encephalitis Virus. To date council have received 12 boxes of repellent that have been distributed to staff, the libraries, and our Tocumwal Accredited Visitor Information Centre. Council is also attempting to ensure some supplies are available for upcoming afternoon and evening events including Carols by Candlelight events around the Shire.
Mayor Matt Hannan said “Event sites such as the Berrigan races and Barooga Botanic Gardens have already been sprayed as will our pool sites this week.”
“We are also working with MLHD and NSW Health to identify the mosquitos here so more targeted responses can be planned.” said Mayor Hannan.
“Council is working closely MLHD and NSW Health to increase the safety of our community. Japanese Encephalitis can be a serious disease and we are actively encouraging everyone who can to get vaccinated as well.” Mayor Hannan said.
