FRESH START FOR A LOCAL INSTITUTION

The Berrigan Shire Council is thrilled to announce a significant milestone for the Finley Saleyards. The Council has successfully secured a new partnership with Finley local, Mr. Nathan Everingham, through the signing of a long-term lease agreement. This exciting collaboration marks a new era for the Finley Saleyards and reinforces our commitment to the community's prosperity.

Mayor, Cr Julia Cornwell McKean, expressed her delight in this development, stating, "This marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Finley Saleyards, and we are genuinely excited about the positive changes this partnership will bring to our community and the saleyards."

The signing of this 30-year lease signals a fresh start for the Finley Saleyards, ensuring its continued relevance and significance in the local community. Despite the lease agreement, the saleyards will continue to be owned by the public, assuring that it remains a community asset.

Mr. Everingham stated he is looking forward to focusing on the saleyards and is particularly pleased with the benefit it will give local farmers by providing a reliable and accessible market for their livestock, whilst keeping local jobs at the saleyards.
