I hope everyone is keeping warm as the winter has certainly (finally) settled in.

I would like to thank all community members who attended our community consultation sessions over the last few weeks which discussed a range of documents that Council has had on display including our Delivery Program, Operational Plan and Long-Term Financial Plan.  As mentioned in my message last month, there are challenges in our financial future, so I have recorded the presentation that I gave at these sessions for you to watch at home at your convenience.  They are available via our Facebook Page, Website or YouTube Channel.  If you do have any questions about the presentation, please contact Council through the usual channels.

At the end of June, Council will be saying farewell to our Deputy CEO, Matt Hansen.  Hailing from Melbourne, Matt made the move to Berrigan some 20 years ago and has been a critical staff and community member.  Matt is our go to person at Council who not only holds historical knowledge but has an intricate knowledge of the nuances and requirements of local government which is no mean feat.  I would like to thank Matt for his significant contribution to Berrigan Shire and wish him well as he takes his substantial local government knowledge to Griffith City a few hours north of us.   Matt will certainly be missed!
