Berrigan Shire Council is proud to announce the official opening of the Tocumwal Foreshore Building.  The building marks the completion of the Tocumwal Foreshore Revitalisation Project and sees Council delivering the community’s vision for the site identified in the Foreshore master plan.

Mayor Matt Hannan said “The Tocumwal Foreshore Building is a magnificent building that clearly delivers on Council’s and the community’s vision for the site and a tourism destination with a real point of difference, a spectacular view of the mighty Murray River.”

Mayor Hannan stated the building cost around $2m including fit out. The project was funded by the NSW Government in partnership with Council as part of a joint application with Albury City and Federation Council to deliver tourist destination projects along the Murray River.

“We are grateful for the investment by the NSW Government under the Regional Growth – Environment and Tourism Fund of $2.1m that ensured this project was possible.” said Mayor Hannan.

“The entire Tocumwal Foreshore Precinct has cost approximately $4m and has seen the delivery of: reinforcement of the town levee and spine path; the installation of the Tocumwal Splash Park and associate toilet facilities; the streetscape works on Deniliquin Road and Anzac Avenue; and now this amazing building.  The works undertaken will serve this community and its visitors now and well into the future.” Mayor Hannan said.
