It is great to see our towns come alive with spring in the air with events such as the Finley show, Tocumwal airshow and the Berrigan Royal Fire Brigade 125th anniversary celebration in our shire this month.

For the keen gardeners among us, the Alexander Garden Competition in memory of former Councillor Bill Alexander will take place again this year.  Now is the time for putting the final touches on your gardens with judging to take place in late October.  Our judging panel (not even I know who they are) will select the best garden in each of the four towns and then an overall winner for the shire.  Best of luck to all of those who help to make our shire the beautiful place it is by demonstrating pride in their gardens.

As you know, Council is in the process of recruiting a new CEO following the departure of Karina Ewer in July.  Applications have now closed, and Council is working through next steps with our recruitment agency with a view to make a decision in October.  In the meantime, Council is in capable hands with our interim CEO Mark Dupé.
