TOWN BEACH BACK HOME WITH TOCUMWAL FORESHORE COMMITTEE

Berrigan Shire Council are excited to announce, with the signing of a project plan agreement, Tocumwal Foreshore Committee have been reassigned care and control of the Town Beach camping area.

“Council is aware the reassignment is quite eleventh hour for the committee,” said Berrigan Shire CEO, Karina Ewer.  “The committee has undergone a number of changes and Council have been supporting them through that transition period.”

New Tocumwal Foreshore Committee President, Robert Hall said, “The Committee are really happy to be back managing and operating the Town Beach area.  We know it brings a lot of revenue in for the community and the camping fees charged are an important revenue source for the Committee.” 

“We are looking forward to implementing a number of plans with the money we again will be able to raise from the operation of Town Beach.”  Mr Hall said.

With the Tocumwal Foreshore Committee back in control of the site, camping fees will be reimplemented as of tomorrow, 15 December 2023 at $10 per night.  “Those fees were set by Council in consultation with the Committee and we feel are a reflection of the importance of the site for the community,” said Ms Ewer.  “We look forward to a successful Christmas season for the Committee and the community.”
