BERRIGAN SHIRE COUNCIL IS UPGRADING OUR FINANCE SYSTEM

We’re making an essential upgrade to improve how we manage our financial systems and processes — helping things run smoother, faster, and more efficiently for both Council and our community.

IMPORTANT DATES

Go Live Date: Monday 10 November 2025
System Blackout Period: Tuesday 4 November to Sunday 9 November 2025 (inclusive)

During this period, Council will be unable to process transactions while data is transferred to the new system.
Any payments made during the blackout will be updated once the new system is live.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

In the short term:
There may be minor interruptions to some services while we transition.

In the long term:
You can expect:

  • Faster processing times

  • More accurate and transparent financial reporting

  • A modern system that supports our community now and into the future

SERVICES STILL AVAILABLE DURING BLACKOUT PERIOD

We can still assist with:

  • General enquiries, including:

    • Account balance information (as at close of business Monday 3 November 2025)

    • Status updates on Development Applications (DAs) and customer requests

  • 10.7(2) Planning Certificates

  • DAs lodged via the NSW Planning Portal:

    • Council can review and raise fee quotes but cannot generate a Council ID to formally lodge new DAs or building-type applications.

  • Existing DAs and building-type applications:

    • Assessment and determination will continue as normal

SERVICES TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE DURING BLACKOUT PERIOD

We cannot process the following during the blackout period:

  • Receipting or payments (only manual receipts can be issued for front-facing customers)

  • 603 Certificates

  • Generation of new Council IDs for new DA or building-type applications lodged via the NSW Planning Portal

WHAT’S CHANGING FOR YOU

  • Your payment reference number will remain the same — it will now serve as both your Rates Assessment Number and Water Account Number.

  • A new E-Services website will be launched, allowing you to:

    • Pay your Rates, Water, and Invoices online

    • Submit Certificate Applications digitally

We appreciate your understanding as our team transitions to this improved system.
This upgrade will allow us to provide better, faster, and more transparent services for our community — now and into the future.
